Petitioner's on active duty military

Hey everyone! I just wanted to know if anyone petitioning their fiance(e) is in the military. If so:

~are there any special considerations for being military?

~How can military petitioners make sure that USCIS, NVC and respective embassy is aware of that military status?

OKay...thanks! Another question though...I don't think i put it on my cover letter...the only other reference I can think of to let adjudicators know I'm military is by my work history...would I be able to inform them by phone or other means of communication of my military status?

thanks..I had a feeling there would be no considerations...just thought there might have been since I've been hearing from others that there were and that they tend to be faster for some reason...anyway, i just sent back an RFE last week so I'm hoping our approval will be in fairly soon.

Check with the military 'legal people'. Being non-military I don't remember the name but its short form is 3 letters, JAG maybe? You can also do a search on here for it, your search has to be 4 characters, so you'd search for JAG* for example, that might help out.

I found nothing on here referenced as JAG, but I am active military as well, and although I have not been to the JAG on my issue, I will at least talk to them this week concerning K-1 vs. K-3 visa. My understanding (not researched thoroughly enough) is that if you are stationed overseas, you have the option to file DCF which is supposedly much faster. You get married, file, bring your spouse back to the states and do all the necessary paperwork here. But I could be wrong. Then if you are CONUS, it is my understanding that you get no special preference, but it couldn't hurt at all to put it on the cover letter. Someone might have a soft heart and who knows... The only consideration for military is the requirement to meet the 125% above poverty for finances. Military only have to meet the 100%. Other than that, we are in the same waiting boat as everyone else. Payato
