Or, it will not. I tend to read what's actually written.

So with out it be written down you cant follow the logical road?

Your "logic" is flawed. The evidence is overwhelming that universal coverage does not lead to socialized medicine - the pursuit of the goal of socialized medicine does. Nobody in the US has or is pursuing any such goal.

Or we could actually pay attention to what's on the table.

But...but...fear-mongering is the easiest way to deflect attention from an issue...and it's more fun too!

Republicans have a bigger problem: the earned income tax credit ("EITC") that was enacted by Gerald Ford and then re-enacted and expanded in 1986 by... could it be, don't tell me, say it ain't so!... Ronald Reagan. The EITC uses tax revenues (derived from our progressive tax system) to provide additional income to people below certain income levels under a formula so that it gradually phases out as incomes increases. Qualifying families receive a monthly check from the government.

So, Ronald Reagan was a redistributor. That must mean he was a socialist, even a communist.

That's what happens when you pal around with Mikhail Gorbachev.

Cant we just get along?

It seems the Dems have a bigger problem, trying to get this health form bill to pass.

Sh!t happens, as much as flies circle dung.

Listening to some of the angry people at these town halls, it just seems to be a never ending stream of soundbites - ideology reduced down to a series of silly cliches that have little relation to what is currently on the table.

You mean you can actually understand them beyond syllables? Are you doing some kind of slow playback? That must be it.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

Exactly. It's all about the commies trying to take our precious bodily fluids.

HB3200 would never be able to be implemented its vague and would be a disaster! Go try to read it!

It is very sad to think of how many more bankrupt Americans we'll see this year thanks to ridiculous expenses that even 'good' insurance can't/won't cover.

Theres more ppl bankrupted by credit card abuse than healthcare by a long ways. Are there two types of bankruptcy? Get real! Bankruptcy can be caused by lots of things. Your argument dont wash.

There isn't a single proposal out there to socialize medicine in the US. Not one. But you seem to have fun attacking strawmen. Keep at it while the rest of the country focuses on real issues.

Where do you think Obama's health care plan would lead to, theres no reason for employers to provide insurance for there workers. If we go this route it will eventually become socialized.

Medicine will become socialized if we ensure that everyone has access to adequate health care by taking steps towards universal health insurance coverage? How have all the developed countries except the UK and Sweden (who pursued socialized health care as a model) managed to have private health care sectors while ofering universal coverage? Your argument makes no sense nor does it reflect reality in any way, shape or form.

So you agree it will lead to be socialized for the average Joe. Thats the point I was trying to make, you responded to the Reagan post saying "There isn't a single proposal out there to socialize medicine in the US" I think that is a dishonest in nature when we all know were it will lead too. Dems are trying to sell it in that manner too and they really dont give the people of enough credit. Its not looking to good to for the bill, and it seems people get it now if Dems can get it

Its all the same ####### that's tossed out on these boards, just louder and with flying strings of saliva:

"Big guv'mint"

"Guv'mint never does nothing right"

"Socializers!"

There's not one honest, well-thought out argument in the lot of them. They don't even know what they're railing against - hence we have all this straw man bull$hit about the UK NHS.

Your pretending these Euro models are solvent and not prone to collapse as they two grow and include more and more.

If I were only able to see 5 or 10 years down the road, I might too agree with these programs but..... we have seen all these type programs not only grow... but increase in scope and authority.

It was just a few years ago we wanted to help out the few poor among us so they too could leave their circumstances and take part in the American dream.

Now we have over 50% of kids being fed by tax dollars at school in my area... over 50%

Where are all these skinny underfed families?

In another 20 years free lunch at school will no doubt service 75%

Sorry , I am not willing to bet my countries future on what these small countries in Europe or elsewhere are doing... their track, record is not so good.

If there ever was a place and time for NHC do you honestly think that right now it that time to try and push this through, considering the economic state of this country

It doesn't wash because, as usual, you are ignorant of the truth.

In 2007, 60% of bankruptcies were attributable to healthcare costs.
