Hello, Looking for any information you might have on recent RFE issues at Guangzhou. Most importantly is how long it took them to process your RFE and what the outcome was. If your still waiting, let me know how long you've been waiting. My wife was issued an RFE recently and all they asked for on it was for me to write a letter explaining about what happened with my previous marriage, why I got divorced in another country and what I liked better about my current wife vs my ex-wife. All the forms and paperwork apparently were good because there's no mention of any of them so it seems trivial considering that my current wife, who was issued the RFE, met me the US, we got legally married in the US and we have a son who holds a US passport making her the wife and birth mother of US citizens. Thanks

Your case looks easy to overcome but with GUZ, any mistakes can be costly.

they are probably looking to see if your wife is only interested in obtaining a GC. looks straight forward.

Good luck

Usually the answer comes within days, once the requested evidence is in the Consulate's file. Be aware though that this is a serious issue. The bona fides of your relationship are being questioned, not the legalities of your marriage. It's a far more serious situation than having something amiss on some paperwork.

Please don't assume that her being the mother of a USC makes the process a formality. The RFE is for you to prove the legitimacy of your marital relationship. Hardly a trivial matter.

If not deemed as legitimate no visa will be issued and she will be half a world away from you and your son.

To put it another way, the interview did not go well. This was NOT an RFE. If you read the notice, it was a 221g denial but you were given a chance to make a second impression. Take it seriously. They have as much as said, "We think your relationship is for no other purpose that to derive an immigration benefit for your wife, but we'll give you one more shot at convincing us."

Mmm, not much good news I see. I guess what seems trival to me may not be trival to them. But, it doesn't make me any less pissed off. Letter is already sent so hopefully they will process it quick and give us the green light. Don't even want to think about it going the other way. Thanks.
