Office says:

"excuse me folks, can I see some ID?"

*search and present ID*

Office says:

"Miss ... are you here of your own free will?"

She responds ...

"Yes"

Office says:

"Okay, sorry to bother you. Have a nice evening"

End of story.

cop..walks up to couple ..opens back car door...and states,.."what are you doing?" and immediate state.."whooey, look at the ####### on that #######"

i, i meant the guy was never so proud...

I once got off the train at NY Penn station . I walked up to the 2 cops who stand at the police stand supposedly watching the crowd but in reality sipping on their coffee while they talk to each other to ask them which direction to go for a particular station exit. Unlike most times, they did not ignore my presence. They looked at me, without saying a word. I asked my question and the nice guy grunted and pointed left.

That cop saved me 10 minutes and I reached my appointment in time.

may 3 1999 Oklahoma City an F-5 tornado ripped thru OKC. it tore thru my mothers neighborhood. of course all electic & phones were out. the police were blocking off all access to the neighborhood to prevent looting. when i tried to enter to check on my mother, i was turned away. i parked my car across the street & tried walking in, again turned away. i saw a cop that arrested me on apr. 27 for...well thats not important... i went & talked to him about the sitsuation, he remembered me. he told me to go get my car & he'd let me in. i did & he did...pretty cool IMO.

I came home one time, and somebody had emptied the contents of their pickup truck in my driveway. I sifted through the stuff, and found some items that could identify the perp. I called the Sheriff. When the deputy arrived, he said, don't worry, I'll run this guy down. I came back home a few hours later, and the mess had been cleaned up.

One of my friends in NI is a cop. He is a nice guy, but he is not very clever - I never did understand how he could be a cop. That said, I have no reason to believe he ever acted in a discriminatory fashion - he is just a dullard.

I have had very few experiences with cops - I was stopped for speeding in France and they let me off without a fine. I was stopped for suspicion of DUI in Northern Ireland, breathalyzed, found to be totally innocent and I was allowed to drive off on my merry way.

I have experienced a few break in's and thefts, and while the cops were always very pleasant, they never achieved anything or recovered any of the stolen goods.

Oh, and I was rammed from behind while driving over here. A cop just randomly stopped. The guy driving the truck who rammed me didn't speak English. Th cope assumed the other guy was an illegal - although it turned out he wasn't. I could just as easily have been, but he didn't even ask me for identification.

Not a lot of good stories so far... one story about a cop gratuitously checking ID ("papers, please"),

another story about a cop grunting and reluctantly pointing his finger.
