Not sure if my application is properly recieved...

Hi again everyone. After a nice little break after getting my 10 yr GC, I'm back to USCIS hell for the Naturalization. So we sent the application yesterday to the TX address (not PO box, the real address) by USPS Express Mail (overnight, signature required). The message on USPS site now says the following:

Class: Express Mail^®

Status: Notice Left

We attempted to deliver your item at 10:25 AM on July 29, 2009 in LEWISVILLE, TX 75029 and a notice was left. You may pick up the item at the Post Office indicated on the notice, go to www.usps.com/redelivery, or call 800-ASK-USPS to arrange for redelivery. If this item is unclaimed after five days then it will be returned to the sender. Information, if available, is updated periodically throughout the day. Please check again later.

Is that normal or do I have something to worry about?

Don't worry - you required a signature and it may be that when they attempted to deliver there was no one there to accept delivery. USCIS has the notice and they will insure that they get your parcel. I think when you check tomorrow you will find that the notice says it has been delivered.

Yeah you are OK.

Believe it or not you shouldn't ask for signature as if there's no one there to sign they take it back to the PO. Same the happened to me EXpress Mail.

Yes it will be picked up tomorrow. USPS doesn't seem to update its status till late in the day sometimes. This freaked me out during AOS, so much so that I Fedexed a new package that day, thinking the packet had gone into some black hole that USCIS would not pick it up from. But I was wrong, they got the next day, and somebody nice at USCIS sent back my duplicated Fedex package without cashing the check.... We live and learn :D
