Question for you all...how is everyone adjusting with their spouses? Having difficulties? Or smooth sailing?

For the most part, after the first couple of shaky weeks, we've been fine. I'm hearing from others that this isn't the norm and adjustment can take months and years. I seemed to think with our little group of friends that we're all doing okay. Now I'm asking and curious to see if I was just being blind :blink:

Ours is normal. There are adjustments and we had our share of crazy petty arguments but we are doing fine. After my first month in here, there follows some "not so good" days.. :P

Lisa, I just received it today. Thank you so much!!!

Jen, I hope we could meet at AC one day. I need a some lady company.. It is just me and my husband all this time. When we're going out, it is me and his guy friends.. :blink:

well CnT,

I think normal married life is an adjustment to ANY couple and living with someone new is different, again, for ANYONE. For us personally, we are doing just fine. Im very grateful to have spent many hours talking to Yazied during our long wait about all of the important things..roles, expectations ect ect. I am blessed to have a very open communicative man.

This is the one thing that i am grateful for about our long seperation... we had plenty of time to talk about all of those things that some ppl dont get time to, or simply dont do. Adjustment is hard for some people and maybe it lasts longer for some too IDK......

That's what I thought. I couldn't imagine taking years to adjust. Unless something unusual happened. (Loss of job, a new baby, etc). I figure everyday is a small adjustment. One day it's about this and one day it's about that. For example, I had come home early the day before yesterday and cleaned the whole house up (all dusted and sparkly). Hubby comes home and says, "When did you get home?" I say, "A few hours ago, I cleaned the whole house, did you notice?" He dumps his wallet, keys, and some other small things on the table (the glass one I just windex'ed) and says, "Your house is always clean." Then, he goes to the bedroom where he takes off his dressy clothes, throws them in the closet (not hangs them, mind you) and puts on his comfy clothes. My first thought was "You inconsiderate beast" - but then I picked up his stuff, put it away, hung up his clothes...it took less than 60 seconds. I told myself "It's not worth it" and didn't say anything to him. Yesterday when I came home with a migraine and slept all evening - and hubby had to eat leftovers with bread (gasp! I didn't make him any rice) - he didn't say one word. He was happy, content, and thanked me for everything - asked me how I was feeling. So to me, that is compromise and consideration at its best. I wouldn't call it adjusting...but that's just me.

OF COURSE there is adjusting when a life event happens..thats every person on this planet.

Still no EAD :cry:

I made an infopass appointment for the hubby so we can go and get an "interem" employment card. This is rather unusual, I think. Never heard of a hold up with a work card. I mean, if it was that involved, they wouldn't be handing out "interem" cards at the local USCIS office, would they? :unsure:
