There is a huge age difference between me and the man I will marry in 2 weeks in Pakistan. We love each other and to us that is all that matters. We met online but I have already been to Pakistan once to meet him and his family and I will return in 10 days for our marriage. There is over a 20 year age difference. Men do this all the time but for a woman to marry a younger man is still rare.

My question is will this hurt us in getting our k-3 visa? I worry about this all the time. Any help to ease my mind would be welcome.

Really depends on the culture/location where the embassy is.

Seems most cases where the woman is older than the man, it becomes more of an issue (in MENA countries in paticular). (based on some of the posts on this forum)

If you can show a strong relationshio, marriage, it should go in your favor.

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

There is a large number of MENA men marrying older women. I find that MENA men are more muture then the men here in the States their own age. If you look happy together and the pics don't look so ODD I don't see why you should have a problem. You are so right that men here been doing it for years, so why should ladies turn down a chance of love just because the man is younger. Go for it Sister and don't worry about anybody judging you because only ALLAH himself will be the judge in the end.

Make sure you clear up the second wife rule, as well as does he want any children. He will have to answer that question in his interview, but most importantly you want to know where his head is at in this life changing event that you are about to embark on.

May ALLAH grant you the desire of your heart according to his HOLY will.

My husband and I have about 16 years between us and as you said it is not a big deal for us but some people do have issues. We have been pretty lucky so far and did not have many problems at the Embassy besides one semi-rude woman...you can read my interview review. If you can ignore a few raised eyebrows and focus on the relationship you will be fine. Make sure you have lots of evidence. I had quite a few plane tickets to prove how often I visited my husband while we were getting to know each other and photos and emails. Good Luck!!

Congrats on your up coming marriage !

I would think they will look at your case abit harder, so be prepared and get as much evidence as possible. Like affidavits from family members & guest. Also I would think the question of children will come up, so keep that in mind.

Best of luck to the both of you !

it can give some problems, be prepared an complete in the case preparations. The thing is really for you to think of the differences...you dont see the differences when together for a short time but they do appear when together in the longhaul, things you never saw and there will be times you feel like you are raising another child. Its normal at the older age you have been there done that (whatever) they havent so many things and ideas they have not experienced yet. It will take all the patience you can gather, but it can work, best wishes
