I filed my I 129F on July 13, 2009 with the Vermont Center and I am completely new to this, can some explain to me how long will it take for my fiance to come to the USA. He lives in Bogota, Colombia.

Its not easy to tell how long it might take because it depends on the backlog but you will know the estimated time after you enter the date of your NOA1 in your timeline.

try to check the immigration timeline at the top u may see some indications and every case is different than the other i don't know how they work on each one but good luck anyways

There is no precise answer to that question. But you can view the "Immigration Timelines" and "Processing Times" links at the top of this page. That will give you a good idea of the times involved based on VJ member experiences.

There are numerous steps in this dance with Immigration that will occur over the next 4-6 months, including plenty of waiting. You should read through the "Guides" section and get a good understanding of what is happening now (see K-1 flowchart) as well as trying to understand what you will be required to do after the K-1 is approved.

I would like to just ask a question as I am having trouble finding the answer via forum searching....

Is there a thread that has a step by step guide for each section of the I-129F? I realize almost all of it is self-explanatory but i am not sure if I need to "X" the block labeled "PARENTS" under section 10. Is it asking if I am a parent or if I have parents? It seems like if it wants me to say if I am a parent or not it would say "PARENT?" in the form of a question and remove the "S" since that section is for me only and not my spouse . Hope that makes sense. Probably a stupid question but it's better to read too far into it than not far enough I think. Thanks.
