Ciao

Why what happened in Naples??? Problems with the embassy, or with the city itself??? Tell him when he comes down to act like a "napulitan" and nobody will bother him :D

Im not from Naples myself, but never had problems with anybody there...

He had his wallet stolen on a bus when he was there taking the exam for the Marine licence... He went to the Caribeneri, who gave him all kinds of trouble (obviously since he had no Identification) and it was a HUGE mess for him and everyone was kinda mean with him... So he just has a bad feeling from there... So I told him to splurge and stay in a nice hotel so he feels better and take taxi's. He is just scared bringing around all our important documents and memories in case someone steals them... I guess once that has happened to you, you are a bit paranoid.... I told him it will be OK and not to worry....

Yes, I am sending my husband with evidence. Although, from what I have been reading about the Naples office, we are not anticipating a huge ordeal. But he has a bunch of pictures, our wedding album, copies of the last 40 cruises I took onboard with him, our bank account, my permisso, life insurance policy and copy of the last 2 years of flights to Italy... I am sure that will be enough since we have been married for 6 years they can pretty much ask ANYTHING and we can answer it. But unfortuntaly, I cannot come over for the interview, I am a wedding photographer and October and November I am slammed with weddings and portraits...

What about you?? I know we are on very similar timelines... Gettin anxious??? We are!

A little bit, I'm still working here, and until I don't know my interview day, I won't leave the job, so it's a little bit of a mass dealing with the moving thing, setting the house to be rent, working and everything else all by myself.. On the other hand she is there dealing with an 18 months crazy baby, and another one in her belly... So everybody here is a little stressed out....

About the evidence, I can just wipe out a couple of legal papers showing that she lived in my house since april 2001.... I guess it won't be a problem, and plus, at the Naples consulate, they have papers signed from me and her when we went to register our son, so he is an american cityzen born abroad....

Not really anxious about the interview, is just the last waiting time that is killing us a little....

Well congratulations about the new baby on the way!!! But it sounds like a stressful time!!! My husband is in Denmark right now working, but for the same company he will work for in the US, so he is lucky to get some training and work now while he waits....

Sounds like you have a bunch of stuff for documentation too, although I am not thinking that it will be as intense of an interview as some other counsulates.... I called today and they said that we were missing some documentation, I called up and the operator told me not to worry that they had everything and it was a false RFE... I am really wondering once it gets approved when he will have the interview... I hope that it is not a long wait! I am hoping to hear something on the case (like a case complete) next week, but that might be a bit soon??? We'll see

Thank you very much.... I'm thinking about the same thing, I was planning to get everything completed by the end of september, but we got RFE from USCIS, and got delayed 3 weeks, then I had to wait 2 weeks for the AOS bill to show paid, so other delays.... Hopefully everything will work fine, and for november we'll be there....

Thats the new ship... My husband was Senior 1st Engineer with Carnival for 14 years, just quit in April to get green card and come to work in America... I will ask him who is runnin the ship, maybe if you drop a few names might get some or at least some preferentials... My husband is Franco Cervetto, if you see anyone from the engine department, they will know him...

If you need any tips or tricks about cruising Carnival, I'm your girl... took over 100 cruises on Carnival with him over the past 9 years... It should be a GREAT time... We always wanted to do a transatlantic (repositioning) whatever they call it!!!

Acireale, thats near Catania right? We spent a week in Milo with some friends of ours... My husband is from Savona, but his extended family is from Termini Imerese (Palermo).

But if they give us a November date (provided we are done the end of Sept) you can contact them for an earlier date? Is there a number you called???

Sorry it's taken me awhile to respond to this... my father is here visiting from the US and we are getting everything together for Naples and then our subsequent cruise/move in the meantime... one month to go if everything works as it should.

I've never been on Carnival but I've heard positive things about the experience (with the exception of the habitual drunkards that fall off the boat, but that's another story... I think we'll be able to avoid them on a transatlantic though!), and am really looking forward to the fact that the ship is basically brand new. Will have done 3 Mediterraneans before departing for the US with us aboard! I know that the officers on the ship are Italian - the captain is Carlo Quierolo - so I am assuming that he knows your husband and vice versa.

Yes, Acireale is about 10 minutes north of Catania... between Catania and Taormina. It's a decent town/small city but I just cannot deal with life in Italy anymore...

Regarding Naples... I think that you can attempt to contact them for an earlier date if they give you something in November, but you'll also be able to request the earliest possible date available when you call them. I asked for October because I knew that my father would be coming over at the end of September and we didn't want any scheduling conflicts, but it seems that at least currently, there is an approximate 2-3 week wait for an interview date at Naples. If you call now, I wouldn't be surprised if you get something mid to late October.

Anyway, we're heading up there a week from today on the train and will be back here Tuesday night, so hopefully everything goes well. Staying in a good hotel on a safe street (where actually no cars can pass), and I have a couple of friends in Naples that will help to look after us. :)

Yes, my husband worked with Capt Quierolo a few years ago on the Imagination with the Chief Nicita. As far as the interview, NVC has everything and we are just waiting for case complete... Can we start to call now, or better to wait until case complete? Also, do you have the number to call or fax?? Thanks so much. Your cruise sounds like such a wonderful way to arrive America!!! This is the information to call the embassy:

Its a very expensive toll number, but its the only way to speak to the visa office, I tried even going there ( i live 40 minutes away) but without appointment they won't let you in for informations.

I would like to know that too, if it's possible to have news about the interview before the case beeing completed, because I really really want to leave before the end of october, my wife there is dieing, and my son keeps yelling when he hears the phone...

Hello

Last week I sent an I-130 off to Rome for my Husband. He is a UKC, I am the USC. Today I received a call from our courier service (TNT) saying that they were not able to deliver the package at the embassy, they were told they needed to provide a name and/or number of whom it should be delivered to.

The address we used was:

District Director

United States Citizenship and Immigration Services

United States Embassy

Via Sallustiana 49

00187 Roma, Italy

Is this the correct address for DCF in Rome? Has anyone else had this problem? Any ideas on what name I should put?

Many thanks,

UK Citizen and American Citizen

my husband and I are living in Gibraltar,

which is a UK overseas territory. I am a US

Citizen, he is British. we married Feb. 13th 2009.

Trying to speed up the process and get everything ready.

thanks for any info...

Cjames
