My wife just received a letter saying that in order to speed up the process they transfer her case to California Service center. What this mean?

She came with a fiance visa and we got married. We are waiting for the EAD and green card. Are we going to have an interview soon? Why California? Is this related to her Work authorization or only green card?

I appreciate your responses

Most folks that have their AOS transferred to CSC will eventually get approved without an interview - so it is very likely good news.

Not related to the EAD - that is a separate case.

As to your question, it seems like this indicates you may be one of the lucky ones who will receive a green card without an interview.

A quote from the guides:

Interview Exception. In some cases a beneficiary's Adjustment of Status case may be transfered to the California Service Center (possibly another location) where the CIS will attempt to complete processing without requirinig an "in person" interview. There is no particular way to know if this will happen to your case however if this does happen then you will not be required to attend an interview in person. If the I-485 is approved the beneficiary's green card will simply be mailed to them.

K1: 01/15/2009 (mailed I-129F) - 06/23/2009 (visa received)

AOS: 08/08/2009 (mailed I-485, I-765, & I-131) - 10/29/2009 (received GC)
