I thought it would be fun to try to get a VJ league together. At least we would need 8 but I would prefer at least 12. Anyone interested?

I'm in. I am kicking butt right now in Fantasy Baseball....in 1st. Been in 2nd most of the season. My friend, who is a HUGE baseball fanatic is ticked he's been far below all season. Not bad for my first time playing.

I have only tried fantasy baseball once and was kind of turned off because of the way they use pitchers and how you dont really play other people but try to get the most points. I didnt really give it a fair shake though and I imagine there is other ways of playing too. Is your league based on who gets the most points?

Yes,points. I am kicking in ERA, WHIP, K's, Runs, Stolen Bases. Ironically, I have these huge HR hitters/Runs on paper....they are killing me by not hitting HR's. Of course, I had Konerko on bench day he hit 3 HR's in one game....dangit!

yahoo is good. i use foxsports mostly, its very user friendly.(i commish 2-3 leagues a year) the only draw back to fox is - you have to have a hotmail account. but, those can be set up easily. i dunno how possible the live draft would be either. in fairness to newbie players (if we have any) an automated would be most fair. i'd hate to see people quit coz X & Y are more experienced & have loaded their roster w/ studs & everyone else has mid level talent.

but I am in... yahoo default standard scoring... 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 1 Flex, 1 K, 1 DEF... 15 rd. draft

Does foxsports charge for the live scoring? Unfortunately yahoo does, last time I used NFL they didn't charge. Yes it would suck if that happened, I would think that if we couldnt get almost everybody for the live draft to go ahead and just do a automated draft but of course vote on it.

thats kinda why i like fox. if we set up a private league & have no shows. a day or two before the draft you can change it to a public league to fill the league. depending on how we or actually 'looking' (i'm assuming he will be commish) sets up the scoring will weigh on how the rosters break down & how many bench players we are allowed to keep off the board. just a suggestion on the draft - don't draft until the week of opening day (i suggest on monday so any trades & undrafted players can be picked up in time for thursdays opener). too many high ranked players get hurt in pre season.

Hopefully we can get enough people this year, I figure get enough names set up a league and wait to do the draft until enough people have signed into the league. If we are shy a few people we could also make it public and pick up those remaining people.

live scoring is free. & if we go w/ an automated draft - you can use fox's player rankings or you can set your own player rankings if you want (your team) to go heavy on a certain position.
