Yes, please take Carla's advice. It may well be nothing to worry about, but if something is not quite right on a lung X-ray, whether it effects your visa or not, you need to make certain it is nothing needing further attention. Lungs are kind of important.

There was someone who had something like this come up. I can't remember who. The doctor specifically told her to have a follow-up test, and it turned out to be normal (I think maybe some scar tissue from a previous illness or something). You say that you didn't really hear the rest of what she told you---which makes sense; after all, it is kind of freaky to be told there is something abnormal on a lung Xray. It could be she told you to follow up with your doctor; it could be she told you it was nothing to worry about. You need to find out.

Also, while you can't open the envelope, you should be able to get a copy of the records from the doctor to take to your regular doctor.

It almost certainly is not something that can affect your visa. I think the only thing they look for in that X ray is TB. It's also more than likely not a big deal. But please do follow up on it.

Well it turns out the envelope was meant for me, as it does not contain any of my medical documents. The mass isn't a mass at all its my heart and they I have some congenital defect that I wasn't aware of. So I was not issued a visa today, Working Medical won't forward my medical papers to the embassy until they know I've had my doctor look at it and fix it the best he can. And now, I am stressed lol

Wow Beans thats enough to stress anyone out, they really should of told you to take that envelope to your own doctor and have him run some test. I'm sorry you didnt get the visa today but at least you are able to get checked out by your own doctor and still have family with you for support and not a huge bill for the tests your doctor will run.

Have you ever had chest x-rays for anything before, its weird something would all of a sudden show up, anyways I sure it will be ok just a small bump in the road.

wow Beans...I'm so sorry. You have to send Woking medical results from your own doctor to explain the situation? And then they will forward on your results to the Consulate? Not sure if I read that right. Get someone to make an appt. with your doctor ASAP and get home. I'm sure this will all work out, and it's only going to be a small delay. Did you give the Consulate a X-press post envelope? That way they'll mail out your visa etc? Did they keep your passport? Those are all good signs.

wow!! Why couldn't they have told you this before you got to the interview?? Best to get it all looked after in Canada! Best of luck

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied,that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1
