Hello to all my fellow members,

It was tough. I was surprised I even slept well last night, woke up early this morning and even worked out LOL but I did!!!

Our appointment was at 10:15 and we got there at 10am. There was a lot of people in the waiting room which worried me but we got called after about a 5 minute wait. I did not look at my watch when we got in but we got out of the interview at around 11am. The only reason our interview lasted long is because the IO was very friendly and very chatty with us so we were talking a lot and it looked like he was putting all our stuff together while chatting.

So let me tell you, I think we were very lucky with our IO, he was nice, young and very friendly. But even with the cool, calm character that he was I was very nervous! I thought "this is too good to be true if this is easy lol" So he sat us down in his small office and I'm sorry I don't remember how it started, I was so nervous I could hardly talk (I get that way with interviews and stuff) He didn’t really ask us anything directly at first since we were all quite young we were more like chatting about our relationship more than direct questioning. My husband started off saying something about work and the IO asked where he worked and since we both work together it was very simple. The IO joked about conflict of interest and we said that everyone at work has no problem with our relationship (we work in the IT dept, and we are one big happy family). Alright I’ll move on....

He asked for identification, our passports and our driver’s license.

He then asked how long we knew each other, when and where we got married (he made some quirky remarks about that and it got me a little nervous but then he moved onto other things). We mentioned that we went to Disneyworld after the civil wedding since we live in Florida (he said something about “that’s a cookie cutter marriage, first you get married and then go to Disneyworld to pose with Mickey”.)At first I was a little worried but he moved on. Showed him our album which we went over pretty much picture by picture and he recognized some of the local places that we’ve been photographed (clubs, bars, sporting events).We also spoke about our recent trip to NYC over the weekend for my hubby’s bday(that opened up another conversation). We spoke about our upcoming cruise for my birthday (to which he asked my husband when my bday was, I think that was a trick question but its ok)

He then moved on to ask us for some evidence such as bank statements, W2 (thank god I brought those, it was a last minute idea) but he asked for them!, water bill, electricity bill (always making silly comments on how our electricity bill was low). He hole punched them and put them in my file.

He was very chatty but then finally said that we were legit and APPROVED. He said that we should get our green card in about 2-3 weeks.

Wish you all the best luck in the world. Just be very prepared with lots of bills, statements, receipts, etc with your names on them and photos. I really think that is all you need the rest should just come naturally.

Congratulations!! I haven't even moved yet, much less get married..but when I move next month, I hope to start searching everything we need for AOS as I want us to send it in as soon as we get home from the honeymoon! ( 2-3 week road trip)
