My daughter, ganddaughter and her boyfriend Thomas are at Phil airport. US Immigration has just called me, he said he was concerned that they were staying 8 weeks. Thomas her boyfriend has just lost his job so we took advantage of this, hence the long stay. I have not seen them for almost 2 years. I have heard horror stories of people being turned away and I am sick to my stomache, please advice or let me know if this has happened to you. There next flight to get here leaves at 3.35! Thanks

what are you asking for, exactly? will they turn him back? If he cannot prove enough ties to the PI, it might happen that he could be denied entry.

Yes I was asking for advice or knowledge of it happening to someone else. His ties would be to the UK. Thank you.

No advice to give but wishing you all the best!!!

Did they bring any proof that they have strong ties to their home country, like a lease agreement?

Thank you, I did tell the guy they have their own house, his cousin is housesitting. I do not know for sure what the kids had with them as proof. thanks again

This is weird. Because is he is a UK citizen, he is under the VWP right? Maybe I am missing something or you are not being quite clear.

1. They are in Philly.

2. The IO in the airport phoned you asking why the long stay

3. You replied truthfully and none of the 3 have intention to remain living here, right?

I don't see any problem.

Typically, they want to see your return ticket and write up that I-94 a few days beyond that. Not dealing with the DOS, POE, or whatever, but one a$$hole, could try a different line. We had problems like that too when I was dating my wife, but she had a sweet way about her and could explain her stay. You have to be terribly nice, even though it kills you.

Is PI one of the countries that does immigration BEFORE you get on the plane??

If so, he might have told you if he was denying them...but most likely not since he probably hadn't made up his mind yet.

I wish you the best of luck.

it's cool, I understand.

My guess is they will be fine --- I assume they have their return tickets, the grandkid has to go back to school, etc. Make yourself a nice cup of tea :)

Yes they have return tickets, my granddaughter will be 2 at the end of this month, so no school yet. Drinking tea, probably need something stronger. thanks

Is there anyway of me finding out if they board the next plane, which takes off in 30mins or so. Can I call someone?

Margy is from the UK though, not PI.

Fair enough, but the first post says that are in the Phil Airport??? I'm confused... .

There is no one that you could call that I am aware of. But I'd be assured that if they aren't on the plane that they will call you! :)
