Check your receipt from the post office it is on there

i do have a receipt hir but ders no label number on it..

da receipt number that i have right now is like the ordinary receipt like from grocery store or some stuffs like dat..

Did you send it via certified mail or did you get tracking for it? Check the receipt for a series of numbers on it. It should have a tracking number. It's usually 20 numbers.

i send it via express mail..

Checking in, another July filer

Mailed it July 11 (a Sat) Priority Mail and according the USPS it was delivered that evening (then again, I'm in Chicago). No sign of check being cashed yet...

BTW, for you Clevelanders, if you haven't gotten your SSN yet, go to the office in Lakewood and ask for Mr. West. You won't regret it. The man is fabulous.

My fiance's SS card was issued and assigned, we even got a paper giving us the number, but the card was lost in the mail. When we went in to order a replacement, they wouldn't since his I-94 had just expired. They said he has to wait until he gets his EAD or greencard. We wouldn't have been able to remedy the situation even if we went in before the I-94 had expired because manual verification took so long anyway and we were close to the 90 day mark anyway.

You have the number, that's all you need. The card is only useful for employment in most cases, which you won't do until you get his EAD anyway. You should be fine. No one but a potential employer should ask to see the actual card... except maybe the DMV? But OH won't give a DL until you have an EAD anyway... not sure about IL.

Not the best situation, but you can deal with that. You can still add to credit cards, get a bank account, pretty much anything.

Hey fellow july/09 AOS fillers just want to ask you all about the difference of express mail and priority mail,are they the same in the length of days to arrive?i am so worry about my status of my application for AOS it is already 9 days from the day we sent still not hear anything from the USCIS/CHICAGO...i have even included a return receipt to make sure,and i also check the USPS as i have my label no. but it only says Delivery status information is not available for your item via this web site.,so what does that mean?do you think the dont have any records of my package?why i can say the status of the package i sent?hope my fellow july AOS fillers and the rest of my vj sis and brod who have the same case as mind can help me clear up my mind or else can advice me what i am going to do to my probs this time...i appreciated all your instant replies...god bless..

Speaking of Ohio Drivers Licenses...What does my husband need to do to get one? He has a valid Turkish Drivers License - how long is he allowed to use that here in Ohio? I called highway patrol before he came here and they said as long as he has a valid visitor's visa, he could drive using his Turkish License. But - his I-94 is now expired, and we are waiting for EAD and Green Card. Do you know if he can still drive with his Turkish license? If not, when can he get an Ohio license / what does he need to do? He has a SSN.

OK, so what I know is he needs to take the written test and driving test no matter what, and he needs a SSN and EAD to get the license. I'm not sure if you need an EAD to get a learner's permit, but I would suspect yes. As long as he has a copy if his NOA with him he is still here legally, and should still be able to drive with his Turkish license. That being said, the local cop probably won't care one way or another and won't know the exact rules, and it would probably be very unpleasant to be pulled over. So avoid it as best you can.

I was wondering that for IL. Tho they only allow 90 days to drive on a foreign DL. I wonder if the police would be lenient though if he explained he can't apply for a DL. IL has Temporary a visitor's DL but I'm not sure he would have qualified for that. I know he didn't need and EAD to get one. The I-94 would have been sufficient. But without a SSN...

It's all too confusing, every state is different...and like you said and I told him too, the SSN is not really good for anything now except the DL and not even anymore. Just gotta be patient
