Anyone know how I can get ahold of USCIS from Canada?

The 1800 number does not work from here...is there an international one that I can't find?

Any help would be so very appreicated!

I'm sorry, that was one of the MAIN issues I had with USCIS too... we, as the beneficiary, can't call. That number only works in the US. Plus, the petitioner as to be the one who calls. There is no other number for the USCIS. Sorry! :(

I'd get your USC spouse to call. it sucks but it is how it is. You could try Skype or some other internet phone system but they'll want to ensure that you're the petitioner and ifyou're not, they may not help you.

Don't worry though, once you're at the NVC, both parties can call and i have to tell you, that rocks.

not to mention, the folks at USCIS are not really that helpful anyway. It was a waste of time both times I got my husband to call.

Good luck to you.

:)

Oh, thank you all so much! I will try searching for the DOS number as I don't have Skype (visiting Dad who will not let me download any 'newfangled telephone contraptions' on his PC).

I was actually granted my perm residency on May 11, but have not yet received my physical green card (10 year). I kinda traveled back to Canada under the radar, but will need the actual card to return home. (Now the USA!!!) OF COURSE, it's way late, and I need to find out where the heck it is...

Even at the tail end of this, its so frustrating!

Best Wishes to everyone and thanks for taking the time to reply!

Hi,

This may be why:

Permanent Resident Card Production Delays link

USCIS is announcing that applicants may experience up to an eight week delay in the delivery of their permanent resident card while we are in the process of upgrading our card production equipment. USCIS Field Offices will be issuing temporary evidence of permanent residence in the form of an I-551 stamp to applicants approved for permanent residence at the time of their interview. You will need to take your passport to your appointment. If you do not have a passport, you must bring a passport style photo and government issued photo identification to receive temporary evidence of permanent residence.

If the application is approved subsequent to your interview or by a Service Center or the National Benefit Center, the applicant should bring the above documents to an INFOPASS appointment to be issued temporary evidence of permanent residence in the form of an I-551 stamp.
