Signature Change

Did you change your signature after getting married, assuming you use your spouse's surname?

I got into a bit of a fix here. It's minor but I want to be sure. Applied with married name all the way. Ended up with maiden name on my CR-1 visa. Was told it wouldn't be a problem. But turns out I'll need to pay $300 to change my name on the green card, which I'm still waiting for.

So anyway, I had to sign a piece of paper at the POE. Guy told me to use whatever my signature is. Since getting married, I've used a new signature that reflects my married name. But now I got a green card up in the air, probably with maiden name printed on it and a married name signature somewhere in the bottom!

Is this going to be a problem? What can I do about it? Or is it okay to sign forms with maiden name and a married name signature? Can I go to a USCIS office or write them and have them fix it before the card is issued? I tried to explain this to the POE officer but they were in such a hurry and he didn't really listen to me.

And is there a USCIS regional office to go to or is it national?

The only place that accepts "visitors" is your local USCIS field office... You could not walk into any of the Service Centers even if you wanted to....

The only way to visit a field office is via an INFOPASS appointment... these can be scheduled online via the USCIS website

YMMV

A signature is a person's mark, it can be maiden name or married name, wait until you get green-card and then decide if you want to spend $340 to get it corrected.
