Husband Authorized to work?

My husband has a social security that says Work with EAD Work Authorization. Will he be able to work with that? I don't understand how you could not be able to work for 9 months?

He can work if he is authorized and only if authorized. The SSN card alone is NOT authorization. When you submit the I-485 (greencard application) and the I-765 (employment authorization), when the I-765 is approved (45-60 days typical) then he can work.

YMMV

So if we are scheduled for our biometrics what does that mean? We filed for everything May 1. Do you think means we are close?

Means you will be one step closer - biometrics is needed to obtain both the EAD (work authorization card) and (eventually) the PR/Green Card.

EAD takes anywhere from 60-90 days (on average).
