I went to the doctor today and found out that I'm measuring "small" and anemic... all the stress in my life isn't helping!

I'm slowly coming to terms with the idea that my husband will not be by my side when I give birth. At first I was depressed but then I realized all those women that have husbands overseas have the same problem as me and at least my husband isn't in any danger! Plus I'm sure I'm not the first person on VJ to have this happen, the immigration process being what it is.... Ok maybe I haven't completely given up hope. If his I129F comes through before the end of March, we still have a shot of him being here.

The good news is that I passed the glucose test. I was 107.. and you're supposed to be below 140. Yay!!

Nothing I say is legal advice. I recommend you consult a qualified immigration attorney for any questions you may have.

Congratulations Savanphil! Wow A boy. I am 2 weeks behind you, so I wont find out the sex until the end of the month. My husband wants a boy of course. My entire family wants a girl. (we have way too many boys in the family). I just want a healthy baby. If it is a boy, I will get all the clothes from my friend who just had a boy. If it is a girl, my friend from Seattle will send me her baby girls adorable things. I am good to go.

Shayrene- Thank you....isn't it great to know people who have stuff. People have already offered me stuff...I can't wait to get it. My mom has been bugging me so we picked a (Care Bears) theme for the nursery and shower. We have 5 mos to figure out all of this but she is acting like he's coming tomorrow.

Thanks for the support. You're right. This won't be the only baby.. my husband wants 10! We've decided on two for right now. I told him he can have the other eight. :jest:

I'm due at the end of May but my doctor says I'm probably going to be late. (ALL the girls in my family including myself were late and so was his sister.) I'm counting every extra day so he might be able to come back in time but at the rate things are going things aren't looking so good.

My family has volunteered to be with me so I won't be alone and I plan to ask my doctor when is the earliest I can fly. (If my husband can't be here, then we'll go to him!)

I do have one question: how sleep deprived are you for the first few weeks? Can you function like normal? I have to be able to go back to work asap after the birth so I'm a little worried about being coherent! Any experienced mom's out there know the answer to that?

We have 3 months until our little one arrives and I haven't bought anything! Tomorrow I will hopefully buy a crib so she has a place to sleep!

Nothing I say is legal advice. I recommend you consult a qualified immigration attorney for any questions you may have.

Singers--If you haven't bought much yet I would check craigslist.org for cribs, etc. I've found some great things there for good prices. Some people have good luck with ebay too. We'll be using a co-sleeper at first anyway, but we do have two cribs ready for the babies and I was able to get one free (through freecycle) and one for $20. I am getting new mattresses though.

Also, if you are having a shower you may want to wait until after you have it to buy smaller items. People came through in a big way at my showers--and this is even without receiving anything from my husband's family (b/c they are in Korea).

So--I'm still hanging in there. I would be very happy if the babies comes on Wednesday (my 36 week mark and full-term for twins). My grandpa is very ill and I would love for him to meet the babies. I am done with work as of Friday. Whoo hoo! And I think I told you all before that I was 2 cm dilated, 80% effaced and twin 1 was in 0 position at my 34 week appointment. I've been told I could have them anytime, but I don't necessarily feel like it is imminent.

Ohh Anne, how exciting. Hope you have a better labor experience than me. All the best.

@Singers: About the sleeping. We had Adam sleep as much as he wanted the first couple of days and then I would sit there at night with a fuzzy baby that couldn't go back to sleep. No we have him on a two hour sleep, one hour awake schedule and it works just fine for us. At night I sleep three hours straight, feed him, change him and then walk around to burp him and maybe sing him a song (all that takes about 45 min) and then he'll sleep another three hours. So after only one week, I get at least six or seven hours of good sleep. Of course every baby is different and I'm glad it worked with Adam that well. I guess you have to wait and see and then try different things and see what works best for you guys.

PS: Call me crazy or whatever but I'm already at the point where I wanna be pregnant again. I envy all the preggo girls and I want to be pregnant too....

I'm waiting for a Dr call back, but figured I'll ask you guys if you've experienced this..

I'm 31 weeks and have had swelling in the feet for at least the last two months. Well, this weekend, it got so much worse and I actually have ankle rolls now. The entire bottom half of the leg is swollne now and tingly. I'm a little light headed today, too. I have no swelling anywhere else, like in my hands or face and my blood pressue has been fine so far in the pregnancy.. They have seen that my feet have been swollen and are never concerned when I go in..

Did the doctor call you back? I would think put your feet up and eat something (in case your blood sugar is low) would be good in the meantime.
