My fiance is from the Netherlands but lived in London for about 9 months a few years back. The Netherlands consulate page says not to get police certificates - that they will take care of that themselves. However, I would think that they would want him to get one for the time he was outside of the Netherlands. Anyone know for sure? And any issues with trying to get the police certificate now even though we haven't yet obtained our NOA2 (but should soon hopefully!)?

I would email the consulate directly. No, there is not an issue with getting the police certificate now, most consulates will accept them for ONE YEAR, even if the certificate itself says it is valid for less time. Again, ask this from the consulate.
