People drive way too fast out here - not as bad as in LA, but still pretty scary stuff.

Seen people take left hand highway exits at speed from the right lane, or worse stop in the middle of the road because they couldn't get over in time. Whatever happened to taking the next exit and turning around?

People drive like idiots here that is what it is. Rain or snow, you see people speeding.

Your second point is so spot on too. I think that is a NE attitude of my time is too important. Not only is it selfish but extremely dangerous for everyone else. Whereas, such a move in Victoria warrants a on the spot $500 fine.

Yanks have not dealt with people like me before. When I see someone pull a move like that, I gear down and accelerate towards them.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

Take a large, almost round, rotating sphere about 8000 miles in diameter, surround it with a murky, viscous atmosphere of gases mixed with water vapor, tilt its axis so it wobbles back and forth with respect to a source of heat and light, freeze it at both ends and roast it in the middle, cover most of its surface with liquid that constantly feeds vapor into the atmosphere as the sphere tosses billions of gallons up and down to the rhythmic pulling of a captive satellite and the sun. Then try to predict the conditions of that atmosphere over a small area within a 5 mile radius for a period of one to five days in advance!

If you did that you'd get into an accident. Unsurprisingly they're very common.

My view - it has a lot to do with the standard of the driving test certification. When I took my test in CA it took less than 30 minutes driving around quiet streets and they don't require you to merge in heavy traffic or do any reversing manoeuvers.

No. To be honest I usually calculate physics (F=m*a), then I factor in German engineering.
