Former Telstra Corp Ltd chief executive Sol Trujillo has described Australia as racist and backward, in an interview with the BBC.

Mr Trujillo ... described Australia as like "stepping back in time", and having "restrictive" immigration policies.

In the interview, Mr Trujillo was asked if there was racism in Australia and replied: "I think it was evident in a lot of ways with me personally but a more importantly with others."

Well I can see you are off to a great start with this thread - insults, baiting and racial comments abound. They have been removed. This thread is on its way to being locked too if you don't start behaving yourselves.

Baiting?

I think it's a pretty safe bet that any thread started by AJ with the word "Australia" in the title is intended as chum thrown out on the water to attract the sharks

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

Guess what the CEO's background was? I am impressed.

I worked for this guy so maybe that is why he said those comments.

He is right about immigration policies. We don't want our country to become like the US.

What he failed to mention is that the UK and Canada have both replicated this immigration system.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

He was born in Wyoming.

Unless you're getting racial with us again, no say it ain't so.

Maybe he got into college using affirmative action too.

Maybe he pushed little ####### Cheney off the swings back in 1955.

What does any of this have to do with the fact that a corporate CEO (the kind of person you respect, not some academic) thinks Australia is backward and racist?
