Hi all, I somehow stumbled across this site and found so much useful information. I'm in the proccess of getting my fiancee to US as well. She is from Argentina and I just received the RFE from CSC. My question is, after sending the RFE back is the next step for me to get the NOA2? Do I have to send more things in the NOA2? or is that information proccessed to the NVC? The reason I'm asking is because I plan to be with my fiancee for most of the month of August and I don't want to have to worry about timelines and sending things back for review while I'm visiting her. Also what is the Biometrics stuff? Is that for me or for her? Does that come after the NOA2? Thanks for everyones help, I will get my timeline included as soon as I can. Good luck to you all!

First of all, welcome!

If they do not need any more information for you, and approve your petition, then yes, the next step after sending back the RFE would be to get your NOA2.

Once you get your NOA2, there will be a series of packets that you get while it transfers between different locations (NVC, Embassy, etc.).

The Biometrics = the medical exam. Which will come for her sometime after the NOA2 but prior to her interview at the Consulate in Argentina.

Let me clarify about "Biometrics." That's normally the word used to explain the medical things that have to be done for your Adjustment of Status after the wedding. However, sometimes you'll see people call the pre-K1 interview medical exam "Biometrics" as well.

Thanks everyone. I will have to get a better understanding of the K-1 flowchart. I'm going to send my RFE back tomorrow, I just hope I don't miss any deadlines while I'm gone on vacation.

grismar - I see your fiancee is also from Argentina, and no we haven't asked for packet 3, I don't know what that is.

So the Biometrics stuff is after NOA2, I first have to get that first then go from there. In the meantime I will look at the forms to prepare for after NOA2 arrives. Thanks so much for your help! Its frustrating to have to wait like everyone else, but I always stay positive and tell my fiancee the same. She is so worried we won't get approved, but I have nothing to hide from the Embassy or immigration, no crimal record, nothing so I know we will be just fine. It just takes time.

basically a run down:

Once you send back your RFE, you will wait for your NOA2 approval. Once you are notified of that, your case will then go to the NVC where it will undergo more security checks and stuff, usually sitting there a very short amount of time. Afterwards it will be forwarded to the consulate of the embassy in argentina. Once it is in Argentina your fiance will receive packet3 to fill out and do her medical. She will return that. I do not know if argentina sets an interview date already or if she will have to call in for one, thats something you will need to check on.

After packet3 is complete she will have her interview.
