Hi everyone. I hope you have a good day today. Anyway, I need your help with this. My GC will expired on Oct. 03, 2009. Can I travel in Mexico/Jamaica/Puerto Rico while Removing Conditions? Do I need visa to go in Acapulco, Mexico; Jamaica, or Puerto Rico? I will out of US for 10 days. I post here because it's easier and fast.

Thanks, I appreciate your advice.

Jenny

You would need to get a letter of extension if you plan to travel shortly before or after the expiration date.

That is, if you don't get improved before that happens.

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

WARNING: Phrases in this post may sound meaner than they were intended to be. Read the Adjudicator's Field Manual from USCIS

You will have to use the 1 year extension letter along with your Green card. Or go for an Info pass, and get a stamp in your passport, as long as you have this you won't needs a visa in North America or the Caribbean.

Your green card will expire in October.

You plan to travel in August/September.

I don't see any problem. Your GC will be valid and you don't need any extension to re-enter.

My green card was to expire on Oct 24 2008 and I re-entered the US on Oct 6 2008 with no problem (just my passport + green card).

I agree with Italian_in_NYC, It shouldn't a be for you to travel and come back. Mine was gonna expire in April this year and I went to visit homeland in Jan without any problems. I think you will be fine.

Good Luck.
