I-485 for K-1 visa holder with children form questions

With me being a US citizen and her spouse, I am guessing I should answer "NO" for myself.

Now for the children (14&16) I would prefer to put this off for a few months for financial reasons. If i am reading things correctly, there would be an additional $900.00 fee for each.

If I check the "NO" box for the children, what happens?

The I-485 is for her, not for you. You do not fill one out. She should list you as her present husband and ALL children should be listed. The children need separate I-485s so if you do not send them now, they will not be adjusted, only her. I do not suggest doing this, but if you must, OK, then you must. The children will be $1010 each. ($930 fee plus $80 biometrics) Same for your wife. The "discount" applies ONLY to children UNDER age 14 and ONLY if filed with the parent. The cost for a child under 14 filed with a parent is $600.

If you check NO then you are telling them there are no children, and this could be a big problem down the road. Their adjustment is derivitive of your wife's, they receive nothing if not listed on her I-485. Be sure to list the children on her form
