Visiting US during K-1 process

Hi all,

We just submitted our petition earlier this month and were wondering if my fiance could come and visit during July. Anyone out there have similar stories? I would think it would be all right, but it would be nice to find out for sure and get some opinions or past experiences. Thank you VJ and all members for the continuing help and support.

My fiance was definitely able to come visit me during the process, without a problem. Although he was prepared with a letter from his boss, as well as some bills in case they questioned whether or not he would return to his country, the officer never asked him for any of it. He just said "Oh, you're only here for a week?" And when he was told that my fiance had to go back home for work, he merely responded with "That sucks. Have fun, though!"

Yes, your fiance can visit you on the VWP. They may be denied entry if the IO believes they have immigrant intent, so ultimately, it's up to you to risk that.
