Another update--They are off the c-pap machine as of today. Hopefully they won't have to go back on it. So far so good, no apneas or bradycardias as of 6:30 pm. Tegan is on strictly breast milk and they removed his iv today. Trace should come off the iv in the next couple days. I also got to feed them myself today. They are still on the feeding tube until they get strong enough to take all their meals from the breast. But today was the starting point. Tegan did really well but Trace was a little slow. He'll catch up though. He's just much smaller. They have both gotten back up to their birth weight. It won't be long before they are out of the incubators and in a regular crib.

Just another update-The boys are still doing wonderful. I've started breast feeding them and they are taking to it well. They will be moving them out of the NICU soon into the Special Care nursery. They even talked about transferring them to the hospital at home. We haven't decided what we want to do regarding that situation yet. Trace is 3 lbs 4 ounces and Tegan is 4 lbs 1 ounce. They are both only on breast milk now but they are fortifying it with extra calories so they will gain weight better. The doctor told us yesterday they will only be here 3-4 more weeks. We're very excited they have continued to do so well. Thank you to everyone who has kept them in their thoughts and prayers. We're very blessed.

Blessed you are hermana, indeed (L)

Oh! and tell Javier that he'd better help out or I will pwn his Messikan azz, mmm'kay????

Oh, I don't have to tell him. He's been the most wonderful husband any woman could ask for through this whole ordeal. He has already started changing their diapers here in the hospital. He had never done it before so that was a big deal for him. I'm very proud of him for stepping up and being a great daddy.

Can't believe I've only just seen this!

Congrats, Booty and Javi! Glad everything is going so well for the boys. :D

On a side note, I went to school with 6 pairs of identical twins - and although they were identical, there were little things that made them ever so different. That and the teachers put them all in seperate classes!

Anyhoo, congrats again! :D

Just wanted to say thank you again to everyone for all the thoughts and well wishes. The boys are still doing really well. Tegan is up to 4.5 pounds and Trace is 3.5 lbs. We're hoping Trace will start catching up with Tegan soon. We are hoping to have them transferred to the hospital in Boone. They wanted to do it tomorrow but the hospital was too full. They said they had babies going home tomorrow so we should be able to have them transferred on Wednesday. We're saying our prayers it works out for that day. It will be so much easier and less stressful on all of us to have them closer to home. Basically, all we need for them to be able to go home is to eat all their meals from the breast or bottle. We're working on it. They are still young to be able to latch on and eat all their meals like that. The sucking reflex isn't actually mature until 35 wks. They will be 35 wks on Friday. Anyway, just wanted to let everyone know what was going on with my little men.
