It's been a busy 2 weeks for sure. But now we're fairly comfortably settled in here. We met a bunch of folks already. Got lucky on that front as a cousin of one of Nani's uncles lives here in the Tampa area. Not only that but he's the pastor at the local Ethiopian Orthodox church and his daughter just graduated from high school. So, the had a "little" get together at their home the Saturday after we arrived. There were at least 100 people there that evening that we got to meet. Very nice.

I started my new job this past Monday and it looks like a keeper to me. Lots of challenges (in a very positive way) and, thus, lots of opportunity here. The people that report into me (I am looking for two more good candidates - they need to fit a very specific profile, though) and the people that I work with and report into are awesome. Got a trip to Toronto coming to me to meet with the folks that I'll work with up there - yet my boss agreed to postpone the trip until a few weeks after our baby arrives. She understands that I am in no mood to travel right this moment.

Just thought I check in. It's been busy. And I didn't have any internet access at home until a couple of days ago.

Cheers!

I'll second that Reinhard, your job sounds just perfect and life will be so wonderful for you in sunny Florida I am sure. Good luck to both yourself and Nani and can't wait to see the pics of the baby when he'she puts in an appearance

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."
