Keep in mind, you will be going through an easier consulate than the individual in the other post. If you can move out, that would definitely help. If you can't, document as much as you can that this is a purely economic relationship and that you and your fiance are a real couple. Good luck!

My ex is a USC as I am. He thinks that maybe I should consult and attny about this question. He may be right, but then comes the question of who can you trust, and how much would that would cost. I imagine any attny would give me an answer with his/her eye on my business, and we are trying to do this on our own. My fiance and I have many pictures of me meeting his family and friends, and him meeting mine, as well as from the various trips we have taken to see each other. We have Second Life chat logs, Skype call records, and I am sure cell phone bills I could provide as well. Oh, I am so nervous about all this now. I honestly didn't think me living in my house, even though my ex lives here too would ever be an issue! If we are denied I don't know what I will do other than learn Dutch fluently and move to Holland.

You can speak English forever and live in Holland. I dated a girl in Holland for a while...

In the other thread all of the info was available becasue the person was not a USC.

I am unsure of how or why the embassy would know anything about your X and his living situation. After all the k-1 and g-325 just ask when you were married and divorced, not details of the quality of that relationship after the divorce...

Didn't the other poster's denial happen at the consulate stage because of questions asked, and because the petitioner's ex was also an immigrant, maybe even from the same country, Ukraine?

As another poster pointed out, you are going through a different kind of consulate. If the Amsterdam consulate is anything like Frankfurt, your fiancé probably won't be asked a lot of questions at all. Frankfurt never seems to care much about any evidence people bring, and just asks how did you meet, what does he do for a living, what are you planning to do, and then o.k., we'll put your visa in the mail. They don't tend to suspect fraud and don't eagerly look for red flags because there is very little visa fraud from Western Europe, given that there is obviously no economic reason to move to the US from here right now.

I would still get the bank accounts sorted out, but I wouldn't panic. The situation is not ideal for this, and in the event the topic even comes up they will probably indeed want to see some evidence, but I personally doubt he will be denied in Amsterdam if you have your stuff together. At least that's what I think. Good luck!

This is what happen to us, in Kiev I was denied a fiancée visa to travel to the United States. I had gone into the interview and obviously, the immigration agent had already made up his mind to refuse me a fiancée visa. The interview proceeded as follows;

The interviewer asked very few questions:

· How Did We Meet?

· How Many Times Has this man Visited Ukraine?

· Where Does this man Works?

Then the immigration agent stated that the man was still married and that his wife, (ex-wife) still lives at the same address with this man. Then he asked me

· Do You Think It Is Okay That You Will Live with this man and His Ex-Wife in the Same House?

I answered that, yes, it would be okay and that his ex-wife already has a another man.

The immigration agent stated that he would not grant a fiancée visa to me but we could get married in the Ukraine if we wanted to. He also said that, he does not believe we have a serious relationship, and he also asked me;

How did this man meet his Ex-wife? I stated, that this man met his ex-wife through friends, and the immigration agent replied,

· No, this man met ex-wife through an agency in the Philippines.

I checked on line at a chat room and was informed that last year an immigration agent had granted a visa to a young lady, where the man in question, had just gotten a divorce from his wife and came to marry this woman. Apparently, this was found out to be a false marriage and the man was put in prison, this young lady was deported back to the Ukraine, and the immigration agent was fired from his job.

This seems to be the basis for their refusal to issue my fiancée visa. This what happen to me.

Can you arrange a formal lease with yoiur ex that specifies a certain monthly rental for your part of the house, and get receipts for each payment? Since it's a purely economic arrangement, that would add credibility to the claim.
