Hello everyone.

I am putting together the information requested to be sent to the US Embassy in london.

My petitioning US Fiancee has sent me electronic copies of all the information relating to the I-134 affidavid of support. And the real copies will be sent to me soon via UPS together with the I129f paperwork she submitted in the initial application.

So.. my question(s) are theses...

As (according to the London Embassy web site) I have to complete the following...

DS-230. I only have to send 1 copy of this but it mentions "send part 1 only" not part 2 *( I'm confused should i send both parts i filled in ? e.g. part 1 & 2 ?)

DS-156. I have produced 2 copies to be sent.

DS-156k. I have produced two copies to be sent. My fiancee has sent me electronic copies of the I134 form she has completed and a ton of supporting information (totaling 21 pages). Am I right to assume that I have to submit two copies of the I134 and all the supporting information as well to the US embassy ?

To Clarify... 2x DS 156k, 2x I134 and 2x of all supporting information from the US petitioner that goes with the I134?

DS-157 I have produced 2 copies to be sent.

And finally. A previous VJ'er has suggested to me that it would be a good idea to write in hand on the rear of all copies of supporting documents the following

"Copies of documents submitted are exact photocopies of unaltered original documents and I understand that I may be required to submit original documents to an immigration or consular official at a later date." on the back of each "copy" of paperwork. Is he right to suggest that ? It sounds like a daunting hand cramp on the horizon.

As always thank you all in advance of your input.

I forget how many of each need to be sent but all of the I-134s plus supporting documents don't need to be sent with packet 3, they just need to be taken to the interview.

The DS-156k States "The following documents must be attatched in order to apply for a fiancee nonimmigrant visa" ( in my case )

Birth certificate, Police certificate, Evidence of Engagement to your fiance(e), and Evidence of financial support.

The latter means an I-134. I'm in half a mind to just submit the two page I134 that She sent me and not send the half a tree of copies of her pay stubs and W2's etc. I just dont want to get an RFE or a bounce because I haven't put some extra pages into the packet.

Yes, I remember it stating that, but I know my husband didn't send any of it, just took it all the to interview. Maybe things changed, but someone with the process still fresh should be able to help ya out.

Hello,

My question to you is did they mail you those forms to send back to them or did they tell you to go download them, I remember seeing that we needed them but I couldnt find them on the website....I'm just getting ahead of myself over here sorry....as for writing that they are photocopies, i dont think they need to know that, usually the gov't takes photocopies anyways...and if they only want 1/2 of the form, then just do half but remember to SIGN them...wherever it is....good luck to you....I'm awaiting for my fiance to get his stuff....

When your file arrives at Consulate in London, approx 3 weeks later they will send out packet 3. Packet 3 doesn't contain any forms but gives you the information of where to find these forms on their website. Below is the link with the forms in top right corner.

http://www.usembassy.org.uk/cons_new/visa/iv/iv_15.html

When you send the forms DO NOT send your police cert, birth cert & I-134 with supporting evidence (tex returns, pay stubbs, employment letter etc). You take these to the interview & present them on the day.

Good Luck

Oooh & I nearly forgot..don't forget to send the IV15 which is the checklist. The embassy won't allocate an interview date without this. Also if you are looking to travel asap you should put an intended travel date on this checklist or you may receive a later interview date!

do you think its a good idea to send the IV15 WITH the packet 3 or send packet 3 first then the IV15 e.g a day later ?

At present, some people are waiting 6 weeks+ to receive an interview date back from Embassy so I would sent it all together if you want your file to be processed quickly.

They take ages to enter the packet 3 info on the system & so to send the checklist later may add more days / weeks to the wait time for interview date.

Thank you so much for that information and to others who have also contributed. I am constantly humbled by this group and its ability to muck in and help out when they can. I hope that in due time I can be up there with the more savvy members of this group.

I wish you the very best of luck and a safe flight later this month. When our paperwork is approved I too will be heading to Chicago. Is it your ultimate destination ?

You're most welcome, it's nice to be able to help others. I received a lot of advice & info especially on the UK Interview thread:

You'll find lots of friendly & helpful people here.

Oh & thank you, I'll be flying into Chicago but then we'll be making the long drive from there upto Northern Michigan.

Good luck with the rest of the process. I'm sure you'll be fine. :star:

UP in a town called Cedarville. I don't think we'll end up living there on a permanent basis, especially when I need to get a job, as there aren't many jobs there. It's more of a tourist town, so we're talking about Grand Rapids, we'll see.
