My fiance is in Jamaica and I am JUST starting the process. Wow. They don't make it easy do they? My first step is to file the I 129F form correct? And cross our fingers and take it from there? Does anyone know if it is easier for us to get married in Jamaica and THEN petition the US Embassy or doesn't it matter? Please help! Thank you!

Actually, it is quite easy. Just :guides: and carefully follow the paperwork instructions.

I don't know if it will be easier to do the DCF in Jamaica - you will probably would have a longer wait if you did that.

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

To petition directly to the consulate might be easier if you meet the minimum residency requirement....

YMMV
