I'm in Vancouver! It's a great city (how's that for non-descriptive?) and if you're looking to go somewhere a little less crowded, Victoria is good too. I like their downtown a lot better than Vancouver, but mostly because there are far fewer pedestrians.

By the way... Trailmix? My wife asked me to tell you the following: "Edmonton kicks Calgary's a$$." :P

Warning ... :ot:

BlackHawks just defeated both Calgary and Vancouver on their way to Western Conference Finals.

Given that I grew up i Ottawa, lived years in Toronto and now reside in Chicago, and am a dual US/Can citizen I don't even know who to root for in contests like that! Do I cheer for my (current) hometown Black Hawks? Or do I stick up for the Canadian team (Flames, Canucks) in any US vs. Canada competition? Or do I just ignore the whole subject and focus on baseball? Oh no... Cubs... Whitesox... or my beloved Jays....

I'm surprised you even have to ask!! :o
On that, the desi answer is:
  • if you immigrated before 1981, and switched allegiance from Habs to Flames (Oilers), then Flames (Oilers)
  • if you immigrated after 1981, support your "normal" local team of Flames (Oilers)
  • immigrated before 1981 and hard-core Habs fan, then Habs
How simple is that?

(no desi west of ON/MB border will at all support any Hogtown team, ever)

You absolutely absolutely absolutely MUST go on the Maid of the Mist. SOOOOOOOOOOOOO much better than going behind the Falls.

There's a Butterfly Conservatory if you like that kind of thing too. Have a great trip!

Hey guys, after reading all your posts I am more excited now to go to Canada. But I need some help (to the OP sorry I post this in your thread). I'm going to Edmonton this coming June 19 for my sis wedding, bought tickets already, and getting excited for the trip. My family have plans of taking us to Jasper. My dilemma is I have my green card now, but my son's AOS is still pending. Do I still have to get my son (3 y/o) a temporary visa to visit Canada? Or can I just show them the USCIS receipt letter of my son's AOS application? thanks for any input.

AOS

03-03-2009 - AOS, EAD, AP sent to Chicago office (USPS)

03-11-2009 - Notice Date

03-25-2009 - Case transferred to CSC

05-05-2009 - GC, EAD card, AP received. :D

For sure! But prepared to get soaked! I made the mistake of wearing mascara that day  Journey behind the falls is pretty cool too, but I like it best in the winter when all the ice is frozen over the holes, it looks neat. The best part is they let you in for half price during winter months! Otherwise, its not much to see in my opinion.

If you don't mind bugs flying and landing on you and intense humidity then go to the Bufferfly Conservatory!

I recommend the new Sky Wheel on Clifton Hill. Its more expensive then it should be, but if offers some cool views of the Falls and the surrounding area. If you love shopping like me, check out the outlet stores on Lundy's Lane!

The receipt doesn't count. It has to be the greencard. Here is a link for you: Visiting Canada
