Hi everyone and thanks in advance for your help..

I did the Report of Birth Abroad for my son in Vietnam and got approved (he will receive his passport in 5 weeks). Just start doing paperwork to sponsor my wife to US and wondering if I have to file petition for my son since he's already a US citizen.

no, your son is a USC. No need for sponsorship. Your name on the birth cert. is all he needs for the next 18+ years.

congrats and welcome.

Thanks for your help, One more question. While doing the paperwork, can I my wife and son come to visit me here in US?

Your son only needs his passport; he still needs to be mentioned on the forms though.

Your son is free to travel to the US anytime he chooses (well, anytime his parents choose if he is a minor!). Your wife would need a tourist visa to visit; this is difficult to get at any time from Asian countries, and especially as you have already filed for an immigrant visa. But if you have the money, you could always give it a try.
