Hey,

Awhile back (in the past year maybe), there was a thread about starting a new business in the U.S. If I'm not mistaken Spiritalright had figured some stuff out about first steps. I've been searching and coming up empty-handed. I'm pretty sure it was in the Canada section. Anyone remember it or have it bookmarked?

all i know so far are there are federal level laws,licences and permits and then there are also state laws,licenses and permits and you have to check which ones apply to you. have you searched your local state gov websites? :unsure:

Let me give this thread a bump. I am a USC and have owned a business in the past.

In USA there really is very little you need to do to start a business. It is terrifyingly simple. If you can comment on the type of business and the city you plan on living I can most likely direct you to a few good resources. Although number one on the list would be the small business administrations website. http://www.sba.gov/

The most important thing to do with a business is to make sure you pay all of your taxes on time, depending on what type of business you start will determine those requirements.
