I-485 Transferred to CSC and 2nd Biometrics Schedule

I came to US with a K1 visa last October, married my fiance last December and filed AOS last March. I am concerned about 2 things:

1.) I received a Transfer Notice for my I-485 last April 09. It says that it was transferred to California Service Center to speed up processing. I noticed not all I-485 gets transferred to CSC. So what does this mean?

2.) I went to a local USCIS office for my (I-485 and I-765) biometrics scheduled last April 21. The attendant said that either my fingerprints may have slightly faded or their machine sucks. So he transferred me to another high definition machine which prolly has higher resolution. So i asked if fingerprints really do fade and change. He said they fade... usually with nurses and doctors... with the soap they are using.... dries and scrapes the skin, and they change if you get scars on your fingers. He said this happens a lot especially with older people and that if they cant read or match the prints, they'll just send me a notice for a second biometrics where they'll look for matches with the first one.

And as feared, i did receive a second biometrics notice scheduled this May 14. Oddly enough, its only for my I-485.

Is this bad? Would this ultimately delay the process?

1. The transfer means that you will PROBABLY not have an in-person AOS interview. If my wife's own experience is a guide, you may end up waiting a little bit longer for approval than contemporaneous AOS filers who are having interviews, but not unduly longer.

2. The second biometrics appointment is precisely for the purpose of moving things along for you. The inadequate first prints (for whatever the reason) mean that things cannot proceed. The sooner your new prints are taken acceptably, the sooner progress can resume.

* Transferred to CSC means usually no interview but does not necessarily

mean that it is going to be faster or slower. Everthing depends on your luck and any possible RFE's too.

* When the 1st Bio was no good, they take the second one, it is not Biggie,

it just delays the process but to prevent that you can always go earlier before the

appointment date (as a walk-in) as long as you have the Bio App. Letter. Hence you can close some time gap.

Remember some ASC's don't accept walk-ins. Heck the Atlanta center wouldn't even let me in 15 minutes before my appointment time. When I eventually got inside, the place was empty
