Additional documents or not?

Alright, my citizenship application is ready to go, however I am curious about one thing. Part of the instructions state that if you are applying based on a 3 year marriage to a US citizen you send the following four items. There are 4 categories and they seem to require only 1 from each category: 1) proof of US citizenship for US spouse 2) proof of marriage 3) Proof of termination of all prior marriages for US spouse and 4) Documents referring to you and your US spouse. Under 4) they list 3 options with an OR between each one. We are sending the IRS tax return transcripts for the three years. It sounds like if you do that you don't need to add any other documents (ie. bank accounts, leases, children's birth certificates, etc.).

Has anyone who has only submitted the tax transcripts received an RFE for additional information? We submitted a truckload of documents with the I-751 (over 300 pages covering 4 years!) and I am tempted just to keep to the requirements as listed for this one - since they have everything else still with my file. Any comments?

We sent 3 years of tax transcripts and our latest mortgage statement. that was all.

We did take additional stuff with us for the interview including our e-tickets from our trip to the UK for Christmas and that was all the officer asked to see.

NO RFE's

We sent the tax transcripts and the birth certificate of our child (which was also explicitly requested somewhere or another, but obviously doesn't apply to everyone). Nothing more. No RFE, no further questions in this area at the interview.

I haven't heard of others having a problem in this area. It seems that once they judge the marriage valid via the I-751, they don't seem to revisit it much unless something comes to their attention to make them want to take a closer look.

We sent more than just the transcipts to stay on the safe side, but my impression is that only minimal evidence is needed with the application itself. They don't really look at it closely until the interview.

Once you get to the interview, some of the interviewers are very interested in evidence of the marriage, so that's when you really need to be prepared with your proofs. And I have seen a few cases where people were told at the interview to come back with more evidence.

I also just sent my IRS report. I did not send my child Birth Certificate but I'll have it in case they ask for it. Our son was born before I became a Permanent resident.
