Hi everyone,

Today was the first interview for us (my wife and I) and the IO just basically asked us a couple of personal questions, nothing fancy. Also she asked us to choose one picture from the album and she kept it. After that, she told both of us to sit in the waiting room for like around 15 minutes, so then she called us back, just to only sit there for another 4 minutes when she handed us this paper saying that we have to be there for a second interview.

What could have gone wrong? our marriage is clearly bonafide and provided proof of it. I guess probably the IO was suspicious because of her previous marriage which her ex-husband submitted a petition for her, but then they were separated, or is it because she had a history of a misdemeanor (just 2 days of community service). Do any one of you think these were the reasons for the second interview? Thanks

They can have a number of reasons to request a second interview or even a denial. Only they would know why and if you didn't ask the reasons for it, then you just have to wait until you go back for your second interview.

Good luck!

What exactly did it say on the slip of paper?

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

If I had to guess, I would guess this, but who knows. I see so many people post who don't get answers at their interviews, but they don't just ask the IO why?? If you want to know why you're not approved right away, why not just ask??
