Wow - that is cutting it close.

Do you all ready have the license?

Yes, we already have the license. Are there any other quick, inexpensive and informal options other than city hall? I don't feel comfortable cutting it that close either,

There is nothing wrong with 'cutting it close' as long as you're married before the 90 day expiration date on his I-94. The stipulations of the K-1 visa is that you marry w/in the 90 days...three days before is fine.

I agree!!!

Yes - no problem, if everything works out.

If you have an issue, 3 days is not a lot of time to play with

Then state that from the very beginning....your original statement is implies that there is some unwritten rule 'to marry well within the 90 day deadline'. The rules of the K-1 visa are clear in that the marriage must take place w/in the 90 day window stamped in the I-94. It is up to each person to figure out what's needed and how to get married in their state. You can marry the day before the 90 days are up (and probably even the day of) and it would be considered acceptable.

Uh? I didn't imply anything.

waiting till 3 days before something expires is cutting it pretty close IMO. Nothing else.

I don't work with "unwritten" rules.

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

WARNING: Phrases in this post may sound meaner than they were intended to be. Read the Adjudicator's Field Manual from USCIS

I don't see any "implication" other than if you wait until the very end and then you discover some sort of paperwork "error"... in many locations you might need more than three days to fix it.....

and on the next morning you don't forget, even though you are hang over, to get it canceled.

I beg to differ. Danette and I got married in Vegas over 3 years ago. We planned it months in advance. It was definately NOT the stereo-typical cheesy wedding you always here about in Las Vegas. We chose it because it is hard for my parents to travel as they are both in wheelchairs and her family is over 2500 miles away. We could not afford to fly her family down and my parents would not be able to travel easily anywhere. A lot of wedding places in Vegas have an option to do an internet broadcast of your wedding. It is not exactly a public broadcast as you have to give people a passcode to view your wedding. In this manner, ALL of our family were able to watch it at thier own convenience. The keep it posted for 30 days.
