What type of updates I keep calling to see if we are recieved by NVC yet.Sometimes I speak with I think a live person but they always have the same answer 2-4 weeks and up to 90 days .I am wondering if we are lost in the shuffle,so many others are passing us by which is good .we would just like to get in. At least another step.

my wife has been waiting more than 2 months for case number to be assigned at NVC. We are thinking we will need to file a petition to request action on an approved petition. However the fee is over $300. It is USCIS job to send approved petition to NVC, if something happend to it in-transit i think its unfair to have citizens pay for it.

Our case took over four months to get to NVC from USCIS. Although USCIS will tell you to file an application for an action on an approved case, you really don't have to pay a dime more than you already did. What happened with us, was it was stuck at USCIS for further investigations while they already mailed us a letter saying that the case has left for NVC.

We contacted our state senator regarding this issue, and they inquired for us, and told us this info.

A week later the case was forwarded to NVC.

Chris and Debie -

Suggest that you check out this VJ thread - http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=187986

it's been around for a little while now, gathering a collection of people with same situation, namely slow progress of approved cases from USCIS to NVC.

Also - you should note that you are a K1. Some of the response you've had here are from IR1/CR1. They have a very different process going through NVC, so their experiences will not be directly comparable to yours. Just keep that in mind.
