I am awaiting AOS (K1).

In another post I read :

After Chicago Lockbox, 130 goes to CSC or VSC (depends on where you live) &

485 goes to National Benefits Center (NBC) in Missouri. After adjudications are done there,

( these are EAD and AP) either the case goes to CSC which requires no interview OR

goes to local USCIS office which requires an interview.

Although I am yet to receive AP and EAD as my case has been transferred to CSC, is it safe

to go back home on AP as it seems there would not be any need for an interview. Will I get

the PR by mail when I am not here ?

I had two RFEs together which has been taken care of. ONLY after this, the case has been transferred to

CSC so I dont expect any more RFEs !

Yes, it is safe to go back home with an approved AP. Yes, the GC will arrive in the mail whether you are home or not..... providing your case doesn't get sent back to a local office, that is. It's been known to happen after a CSC transfer, as well as additional requests for evidence.

Of course, i will wait for the AP first.

But, I have put on hold many things here like buying a car etc... all I do is sit at home :(

I have to go back to sell my car and home for which I need a few months. So, I was wondering if I can put the present time

at a better use.

Risky....

1) Not all cases transferred to CSC are approved without an interview. During the adjudication process, the CSC can and does transfer cases back to the local offices for scheduling of interviews if they determine that the case warrants it.

2) Just because you have received 2 RFEs to date, does not mean that more are not possible. Until you get an approval notice, your are always subject to additional RFEs. RFEs can occur at anytime in the process - before or after the transfer to CSC. And if your case gets retransferred back to a local office, they could issue an RFE.

3) If you receive the AP AND you do not have more than 180 days out of status prior to your AOS NOA1 date, then you could travel under the AP, but if your intent is to be gone for an extended period of time, you will need to make sure that someone is getting your mail and forwarding it to you. In case you receive an additional RFE, there is a time limit to respond.

Good luck.

Alright, now the status is that I got AP yesterday on april 28th and EAD today i.e. april 29th. The AOS processing has been moved to CSC a fortnight back.

Suppose, I get AOS approval without an interview, what is the timeline I am looking at ? Both these documents have been sent from NBC while PR will be

sent from CSC, right ?

I read so many folks here got AOS without interview at CSC so they might be knowing ?

You have AP, so you can travel. Period.

Risks? You get an RFE while you are gone, it can happen. Will someone be here to answer it? You get an interview appointment. Will someone be here to read the mail so you can reschedule? (it is NOT recommended to reschedule, but if you are out of country, what else can you do?) If all your bases are covered your risk is pretty low. Yes if all is approved they will send your CGC. Is someone there to receive it?

So, pay your nickle and take your chances.

of course, my wife (USC) is here to do all the needful. Only that she cant go alone to interview. We will be talking daily on phone.

Just wondering now, ifffffffff I should now wait for GC or plan for journey. If there was anyway to know that I'd get it within a fortnight,

I'd rather wait for it to come
