We are looking for a good, at least a 4 star hotel ( or a very nice one, not a 4 star) near the US Consulate in Guangzhou.

Many thanks,

Charlie and Dora

If you are looking to stay at a nice western style hotel the Westin is right next to the consulate in GUZ.

known as the yangs, many great reviews for this place and these couple that runs the hotel is very nice...

 Keep in mind the yang's are NOT a 4 star hotel!

When we interviewed for out K-1 we stayed with the Yangs, they are conveniently located in the same building complex as the consulate. They also are very helpful with organizing for interview, giving good tips, and help get you to the medical center.

you're marrying a Chinese. she can handle the local stuff, especially if she speaks guandonghua, so this hotel is fine, and very close to everything you need. it's comparatively cheap, too. the yangs speak mandarin, also, but most of the people in guangzhou do not.

HelloWorld08 and others the card shown here is not Mr. Yang's.

We are here now, and this is are second stay with the Yang's. 10 days Aug. 07 - K-3, and 10 days April 09 - IR-1

yang_jiahua2000@yahoo.com.cn

Several people have been intercepted looking for Mr. Yang's place, and stayed with someone else in the same bldg. We have chosen to stay with the Yang's again, because they are good people, and they make us feel welcome here. This location, very close to the Consulate, is also good for getting around Guangzhou. It is a short walk to the bus terminal, train station, and there are entrances to lines 1(near the train station) and 3(next to the CITIC Bank) of the Metro(subway). There are other places similar to Yang's, and hotels of different levels, all near the Consulate, prices very according to the Business Fairs in GUZ, but you will be able to find suitable accommodations near the Consulate. Good Luck to all, Mike & Yizhen

Also, the 6C bus takes you from the Airport to the CITIC bank, $20rmb per person

Very good point, it is always best to go to "Candle for Love" and use that site, the link I posted is the Yang's tread on CFL it gives extensive details about this helpful couple.

Many thanks,

Google Tianhe District hotels

Anything near the East Train Station will be very close to the Consulate. There are several great hotels within a few blocks.

Here's a start... http://www.cantonhotelweb.com/?o=hotels_list;district=5
