Hi all,

After 485 is approved and biometrics are complete, Does every one receive "Card ordered for printing" email from CRIS or mail from USCIS? Its been 6 months my 485 is approved, In last 1.5 months they called me twice for finger printing - first time - 10 fingers print and second time index finger and electronic signature.

Its already been over a week since i had second session of finger printing in USCIS office - No card and no letter

of proof stating they ordered production/printing for my green card.

DO you think its unusual to not receieve letter of "Card ordered for printing?"

After 8 years of wait - My 485 was approved on dec -11-2008 and struggling to get plastic card since 6 months already. :crying:

Now with the following anouncement from USCIS - announced on May 29, 09 - i know there wil be delay but Has any one completed biometrics before the delay was announced and have recieved plastic card in 2-3 weeks?

Do you guys recommend i should visit local office once again and have them inquire why didn't i receive email/mail about " Card ordered for printing"?

Permanent Resident Card Production Delays -Last updated:05/29/2009

USCIS is announcing that applicants may experience up to an eight week delay in the delivery of their permanent resident card while we are in the process of upgrading our card production equipment. USCIS Field Offices will be issuing temporary evidence of permanent residence in the form of an I-551 stamp to applicants approved for permanent residence at the time of their interview. You will need to take your passport to your appointment. If you do not have a passport, you must bring a passport style photo and government issued photo identification to receive temporary evidence of permanent residence.

If the application is approved subsequent to your interview or by a Service Center or the National Benefit Center, the applicant should bring the above documents to an INFOPASS appointment to be issued temporary evidence of permanent residence in the form of an I-551 stamp.

Thanks in advance to all those who will respond to this post or read this post :)

hey guys

i was approved april 27th, still waiting for 10 yr card---recieved mail on may 27th stating that my card was pending card production---this was after i did a service enquiry about my card---

i wonder how long before we recieve our cards---i know there is a 8 week delay, worse case scenario i hope------but wouldnt it be nice if they finished the upgrade of their systems in the next few days---that would be awesome wouldnt it---i mean how long can it take to fix or upgrade a computer system---2 weeks maybe 3??

wouldnt it be nice if the cards staring rolling out in the next week or so---cause im sure if the system is done upgrading they will come thick and fast

lets hope
