 Another Friday is here. Any good news? Doesn't matter CSC or VSC. Come one, give us something to hope for. :crying:

Does anyone ever heard about us immigrant can request USCIS to give us the interview? Coz I would love one if I can be done with this mess sooner than a year. Or it's a one way street where the interview can only be initiated by USCIS?

I think you were looking for approvals for other VJ members, which surely does give us hope to wait more.

Well i never heard of any alien :alien: asking USCIS :diablo: for an interview as far as my knowledge goes. I think if someone ever

asked them to do an interview USCIS might say " We are still processing other high priority cases at the moment, you case

is still under review, if we need anything from you, we will notify."

So think of this way. USCIS is the boss here and we are the poor workers :(, no choice but to obey.

That would be so great if we could initiate the interview. I love that idea! Instead we log onto the meaningless USCIS case status page constantly, check processing times incessantly, see who got approved on visajourney and compare it with our own timelines, check the mailbox and inbox with hope then ultimately despair. Alas we are merely pawns in this game of immigration.

Actually I called the hotline today (makes me feel better). I asked the CSR twice "Can you tell me absolutely that no RFE has been sent that perhaps I have not received?". He assured me that I had not been issued and RFE and said not to worry, everything was fine. I documented the time, his name, and ID number. I will wait two more weeks and then make an InfoPass appointment.

It's been nine months to the day since my petition was mailed......sigh......

Just to give you a comparison, you can do that when applying for Italian citizenship.

My USC wife will be naturalized as an Italian citizen. She's eligible to apply after 3 years of marriage if we live abroad (it would have been after 6 months had we lived in Italy, but they're changing that).

I called the Italian Consulate in NYC and I picked an available date (after the 3-year mark, obviously).

Both of us will have to be there, and be ready with all the (massive) paperwork.

Then it's done, but it could take up to 2 years.

So I don't know which one is better....at least here in the US we know that after the interview we're pretty much done....
