Hi all. I hope our road has been traveled on befor as to help with our journey. We seek your help. Has anyone gotten police clearance from lebanon for an interview in manila?

ive looked at the reciprocity table there for lebanon at this link (and scroll down

http://travel.state.gov/visa/frvi/reciproc...ocity_3604.html

so the relavent part says to obtain this you must:

" For those residing outside Lebanon, the request must be processed through Lebanese embassies/consulates, but applicants may experience extremely long waiting periods before they receive the document, or may not receive them at all. The "Judiciary Police Record" may also be requested through a lawyer having a power of attorney from the individual authorizing the request. The "Judiciary Police Record" presented by an individual does not mean that the individual is clear. It just states that "this person does not have any court sentence against him". "

First, "For those residing outside Lebanon, the request must be processed through Lebanese embassies/consulates,"

1)where do we request this? at the Lebanese Embassy in the Philippines?

Second, "but applicants may experience extremely long waiting periods before they receive the document, or may not receive them at all.

2)sounds discouraging to me. Please feel free to comment about this.

Third, "The "Judiciary Police Record" may also be requested through a lawyer having a power of attorney from the individual authorizing the request."

3)are they telling us, if i dont want to wait forever to get this document, that we will need a lawer?

I guess we need someone with experiance to answer at least two of our questions but all your thoughts are welcome for any other ideas and thank you all very much as it is very much appreciated. Mari Joe

You have to call the Embassy of Lebanon located in Muntinlupa City, Phils. and ask the requirements in getting a Police clearance before you go to their office.

This is the address:

Lebanon Consulate Office

Unit 905 Park Trade Center 1716 Investment Drive,

Madrigal Business Park, Alabang

Muntinlupa City, Phils.

Phone #: 807-3012; 807-0369

Fax: 809-7314

Mine took 6 weeks before I got my Japan Police Clearance. I do advice you to complete all your requirements before setting an interview schedule cause if you don't have police clearance during your interview, you will not get a direct answer from the consul if you are approve or not and you'll be under administrative review and that will take longer based on my experience. See my timeline.

I've gone to Japan and work there for one a half year not in Lebanon but the procedure is still the same. In my case I went to Japan embassy in Manila and file for my police clearance. Same thing with Lebanon Consulate in Philippines but before you go there you have to call the office first and ask for the requirements needed for filing a police clearance. I think it is already translated in English when you'll receive it because police clearance is sealed in the envelope when they hand it to you and only USEM is allowed to open it.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).
