I have been a student for the last year and also this year.I read where it said I will have to have my tax papers from last year but I have none or even the year before because I was not working. My boyfriend is a medical student. He will complete his interning this year and he wants to continue college here in the US but also work. But what do I need to do now ? I will begin working as soon as I graduate in around October. Can I just show proof of being able to support him at that time ?

You'll still be required to submit the I-134 (as the USC Sponsor) - but can simply attach a letter explaining why you did not have to file previously. The Embassy/Consulate will look at your current earnings (such as pay stubs, employment letter etc) to determine eligibility. May be prudent to line up a co-sponsor just in case though.

Read through the guides and form instructions to get a good understanding on the process. The I-134 and I-864 instructions tell you what is acceptable proof.

Double check with the embassy where you fiance will interview to determine what's expected with regard to I-134. Current income needs to be shown by the sponsor.
