Does your level of income matter

Hi all,

I want to start a K-1 filing for my girlfriend from Thailand, but I don't know if I should wait or not. I'm a bit concerned about my income. I've been self employed for the past 2 years and really have just kind-of been taking time off and living off some savings. I've still been bringing in about $30k/year doing some occasional contracting work.

Since my finds have run dry, I'll be back to full-time work and should bring in considerably more than that in the near future. Looks like $30k is still above the acceptable bottom-limit, but will we have a better chance of approval if I show a higher income? Is it worth waiting 6 months before I file so I can show more income?

There is no point in waiting. The only requirement is that your meet the 125% mark. Above that it doesn't matter.

there is a minimum financial requirement that must be met.... not a maximum

BTW, financial ability is shown at time of consulate interview... NOT with the initial petition
