Hello everyone, I have three questions:

1) With the paperwork included with the i-134 I need to send the past three years of tax returns of myself and my co-sponsor, but can that be my tax returns or does it have to be in the 'transcript form' from the IRS?

2) When the interview date comes up, will it be a problem that I can not attend in person? I just returned from being with my fiancé for 6 months and won't have the finances available to fly there for the interview. Is it mandatory for me to be in attendance? Does this give them reason for denial?

3) Because I was with her for the past 6 months, I have had no income while out of the country. So, my most recent pay stubs are from September of last year. This is also why I have a co-sponsor, because even with my income I felt the need for a co-sponsor to assure them. Would you recommend that I attach the pay stubs from before I left for my 6 month trip? I still am employed with the company that I was with before I left.

Thanks for the help in advance!

Please check me on this, but I believe that Bangkok does not accept co-sponsors for K visas.

There are many folks going through BKK here on VJ and I am sure that they will supply a more definitive answer.

This is a serious problem for me then. I don't know if my income will be enough to get approved. Will they take notice to being out of the country for the past 6 months with her? Because I was making above the poverty level for the past 3 years. Even with being out of the country for 6 months I still made 16k last year. What should I do here?

What amount of assets do I need and what amount will I need in yearly income? What affect does me being with her for 6 months have on it? And also my pay stubs?

I have read that it takes 3 times the assets to equal the dollar amount. Those assest need to be liquid to be considered.

I was in Thailand for a long time as you were. I wrote a letter & attached it to my 134 explaining the situation. They didnt question my ability to support her.

I did submit a letter & pay stubs from my employer.

I can't say this would work, but I'd send documentation showing how much I've made each yr for the past 3 yrs, include tax transcripts, your letter of employment should show you worked there for those previous 3 yrs(assuming you've been working there for the past 3 yrs). Include in your personal cover sheet/letter how you've spent 6 mos out of country and were unable to work. Make sure you include tax transcripts to prove you made more than enough to beat the poverty line and make 125%. If this comes up during the interview for your wife, make sure she can explain what happened as well. Good luck to you.
