additional review at NVC

I received a letter from NVC saying they will forward the case to the embassy last week, but today when I called they are saying the case is under additional review, and there is no time frame. Can someone help me with what this means, is it bad?

Means they found something they have to check in deeper.

Could be bad, but mostly, just doing more checking.

Well since it is at NVC you're right ... it does not matter what they call it. However, "Administrative Review" at the foreign consulate is generally considered worse with possibly longer delays.

The said additional reviews. I read some posts about people get stuck at NVC level and it is really frustrating. How often should one call them, or would this create more delays?

Call as often as you want to - Some pepole call every day - I can only bear to call about once a week. It shouldn't create any further delay.

Looks like you have been put into Administrative Processing. Check the letter you got from NVC, was it for your I-130 or I-129F?

Does Administrative Processing or Additional Review (are they the same?) apply to CR-1s as well as K visas? [Maybe I don't really want to know the answer to that question ... another thing to fret about while waiting for Case Complete? ]
