just for fun last year out at the stip mine in somerset i cut down a few trees with the 8mm belt fed. they were about 12-14" in diameter, and the range was about 200 metres. on the tripod i figured about 40% hit probability (dispersion is usually a good thing in MG work), but it still took less than a 220 rd can to knock the first one over. picric acid would have been faster, but i still have all ten, and want to keep them, so i quit making that stuff a long time ago.
