Hello all,

I got my I-129f approved in the first week of this month (March ) and then 2 weeks later i get an email from Chennai IVU stating my wifes interview date is on 14th May ( wooooo hoooo, no packet 3 or 4, straight email !!! ) and they sent me a bunch on forms (9) and also told me to bring a print out of that email if my wife does not get any packets.

so i got DS-156 and i-134 in their attachements in the email and now i am wondering if those forms are for k1 ??? we are married and applying for k3. will i need I-134 or I-864 . Also, in the download section on VJ i see ds156 and i134 under k1 and i864 under k3, so i m confused but the email says otherwise

Please help.

It is not " better to bring a 864 ". The 864 document is unacceptable for K 3 visas.

Can someone explain more on this. i was trying fill up I-864 and take it with me just incase

It's not necessary for the k3 interview at the consulate.

The 864 is for immigrant visa applications(CR1 for example), or at the stage where you are applying for adjustment of status once your spouse arrived in the US.

The K3 requires the I-134 for the visa application at the consulate. Worry about filling it out and getting supporting docs

:)

"you fondle my trigger then you blame my gun"

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!
